The structure of Functional Skills Maths Level 1 varies slightly depending on the exam board. All exam boards divide the exam into two parts: a non-calculator section and a calculator section. In general, the shorter exam receives about a quarter of the marks, while the longer paper receives three-quarters of the marks, and the entire assessment duration is roughly two hours.

- Percentage of qualification: 25%
Section B ( Calculator)
- Exam duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
- Total Marks: 48
- Percentage of qualification: 75%
Pass Mark:
Learners are required to achieve an overall 63% mark in order to pass the exam.
