Don’t be concerned if it goes too rapidly for you. Each stage will be discussed in further depth below.

Now do the following. Before we begin, remember that BSL is a two-handed sign language. That suggests you’ll be using both hands to communicate.

However, there are certain signs in which we use our dominant hand to make one gesture and our non-dominant hand to finish the sign with helping gestures. Don’t, for example, switch your dominant hand in the middle of a sign. This will baffle the individual with whom you are conversing.

Now, the word “Good morning” consists of two signs. One for ‘good’ and the other for ‘morning’. First, we’ll sign ‘good’ and then ‘morning’ and that’ll complete the whole sign.

4. Now, spread out your right hand and keep a flat palm. Now touch your left shoulder with the tip of your fingers like the image above.

5. Now switch sides. Touch your left shoulder like in the previous gesture. This is the ‘morning’ part of the whole sign.

6. Say the word as you’re signing it, and keep a beautiful smile on your face.

Conclusion

So, that’s how we sign Good Morning in British Sign Language. Check that the person you’re speaking with can adequately see you. If the signer’s gestures are not clearly visible, anybody may easily misread the message. If you want to learn the sign, stick to a consistent practice regimen; otherwise, you risk losing it over time.
