The course holds accreditation from the CPD Certification Service, the UK’s leading independent accreditor of continuing professional development.

Independent accreditation means the syllabus, training hours and assessment method were reviewed against recognised standards before approval was granted, rather than assessed internally. Your certificate records formal CPD hours that can be added to your professional development records and used as evidence of completed training when requested by employers or insurers.

All individuals 18 or over and able to follow the training in English who are:

• Aesthetic practitioners and beauticians who want to add vitamin injections to an existing treatment list.
• Support workers and healthcare assistants widening their clinical skill set.
• Student nurses and nursing associates looking for supervised injection practice.

By successfully completing this course, you will gain theory and practical skills from experts. However, to gain competency, you have to work under an expert or a practitioner.

There are two assessments, and both are completed before you go home.

Written assessment — a multiple-choice paper covering infection prevention, contraindications, safe practice and the B12 theory behind them. You need 60% to pass. It takes place at 12:30, after the morning theory and tutor demonstration, so nothing is tested before it has been taught.

Practical assessment — working on a training model with your tutor observing, you deliver a vitamin B12 injection from start to finish. This includes selecting equipment, preparing the injection, applying the correct technique and safely disposing of sharps. Technique, safety and process are all assessed.

Your certificate is handed over in the room before the 17:00 finish. It carries CPD Certification Service accreditation and records the course title, completion date and CPD hours achieved. There is no additional certificate fee and no waiting period.
